Topic - Wellness Today: Plan Design, Incentives and Compliance Considerations

A well designed, comprehensive worksite wellness program can increase productivity, decrease absenteeism, boost morale, and, ultimately, decrease healthcare costs. However, for a program to be successful and effective, there are several factors to consider, including appropriate use of incentives and compliance with ADA and HIPAA regulations.

Speaker -  Shira Wilensky, Regional Health Management Consultant, Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc.

Shira has 10 years of experience in corporate wellness and healthcare and innovative and cost-saving strategies in program design.  Her health management consulting experience includes program development, compliance and evaluation, oversight of implementation and operations, and creating customized strategic plans.  Shira's academic background includes a BS in Sports Medicine and an MS in Sports Administration from Florida State University. She has also completed coursework for her PhD in Health Services Research at UNC Charlotte and taught at the undergraduate level. Her area of study focused on primary care and appropriate healthcare utilization including: use of the Emergency Department, chronic disease management, and compliance with well-visits and preventive screenings.
